Interview with Stephen and Bea
Q: You've been presenting The Getting the Love You Want Workshop for couples for over fourteen years now. Do you still enjoy it, or are you getting bored by now?
S: For me, it's even more enjoyable, because we've refined the brilliance, the essence of it.
Q: Like a diamond...
S: Yes! We know that at the end of the day on Sunday, we'll see shining faces, and new hope.
Q: Still works for you, Bea?
B: Yes, it's wonderful to see the benefit to couples who come, and it's also an opportunity to see how far Stephen and I have come in our relationship.
Q: Do couples learn from your experience?
B: I think it deepens their appreciation for the map and tools that we offer. They begin to feel hopeful as they learn to work through the issues of their relationship.
S: And they think "If these guys could make it, we've got a great chance!"
Q: So you haven't always experienced marital bliss?
S: I remember one participant who described the state of their relationship before coming to the workshop. She said "We were 'dead grim'." Bea and I smiled at each other, we remembered some of those days!
B: Not only do couples benefit from reflecting on our story, we hear often that the workshop provides a reality check in understanding that the journey to conscious connection moves through conflict and differentiation, universally; no partner is alone, though each experience is unique.
S: Watching the light come on in their eyes, to feel them relax and bond again, it's an experience we'll never get tired of.
